About this resource
Mathematics for Newcomers consists of four teaching aids in mathematics that can help students learn and understand basic arithmetic skills, and with further progression in the subject even if they do not master Norwegian. Common to all the teaching aids is that the subject matter is presented visually and is often illustrated with practical examples. This is useful when one does not know the language, or has not learned mathematics previously.

Mathematics 8-10 - bilingual
Mathematics 8-10 bilingual is adapted with translation into five languages; Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, Somali and Arabic.
Through language adaptation, Norwegian and minority language students can more easily learn, collaborate, explore and solve problems together. This strengthens language learning and makes inclusion easier.
Students can easily switch between Norwegian and their native language in one and the same learning tool by clicking on the flag that represents the desired language. Along the way, students can switch between the languages and learn mathematics, subject concepts and Norwegian.

Mathematics 8-10 Basic arithmetic skills
Mathematics 8-10 Basic Arithmetic Skills contains self-correcting exercises for reviewing basic arithmetic skills. The resource is intended as a supplement to Mathematics 8-10.
Board mat
Board math is well suited as supplementary material for Mathematics 8-10. It is suitable for students who need quantity training or to strengthen their basic mathematical understanding and calculation skills, and covers topics all the way down to the 4th grade.
Through hundreds of animations, films, self-correcting exercises and images, basic mathematics is presented in an easy-to-understand way.
Board math focuses on concepts, visualization, and structure for students to gain understanding and confidence in mathematics.
Diagnostic tasks
Diagnostic tasks 5-10 have been prepared by special education teachers Ann-Beth Ødegård and Elisabeth Bade. They have extensive experience in schools and within the subject of mathematics, and have extensive experience in understanding students' misconceptions in mathematics.
The tasks contain typical misconceptions as answer options, so that the teacher or student can easily see what needs more work.
