Privacy

Kunnskap.no is owned and operated by CyberBook AS. Here we explain what information we process when you use the website and online store, why we do it, and what rights you have.

In short

  • We only collect what we need to deliver the learning materials, send invoices and respond to you.
  • We do not use third-party analytics, ad networks, or tracking, and we do not record what you click or search for.
  • Registration and forms can be protected against spam and abuse with Google reCAPTCHA, and in case of increased risk also in other places.
  • We never sell personal information.
  • Card payments are made through Nets (Nexi). We never see or store your card number.

Data controller

CyberBook AS is the data controller for the information described here. Please send any questions about privacy to kunnskap@kunnskap.no .

What information we process

When you shop

Name, email address, phone number and billing address, and delivery address if you purchase physical books. If you are shopping for a school or business, we also store your organization name, organization number, reference and billing address for email or EHF. We store what you have ordered, price and payment status, and the IP address the order was sent from, to detect abuse.

Once you have an account

The information above, in addition to your password, is stored encrypted (argon2id) so that no one, not even us, can read it. If you use a passkey, we only store a public key. Fingerprint and facial recognition never leave your device. If you use a two-factor code from an app, we store the secret needed to verify the codes.

When you fill out a form

What you type in the form, for example when you request a trial, sign up for a webinar, or request a quote. To stop spam, we store a one-way encrypted (hashed) version of the IP address, not the address itself.

Newsletter

Your email address, and your name if you have an account, are sent to Campaign Monitor, which sends the newsletter. We also store the time and IP address of your consent so that we can document that you have signed up. You can unsubscribe via the link in each email, or under "My Account".

Customer service

Messages you send us, and our responses.

Operation and safety

The server records technical information such as IP address and time to protect login, checkout and forms against abuse, for example by limiting the number of attempts. This information is used only for operational and security purposes.

Spam protection (reCAPTCHA)

To stop automated submissions, account registration and forms, such as the contact form, can be protected by Google reCAPTCHA. In the event of increased risk of abuse, such as many bot attempts, we may also use it in other places for a period of time, such as login, forgotten password and checkout. Where it is used, it is stated below the form. reCAPTCHA assesses whether a human or a program is submitting. This happens in the background, without you having to do anything. To make the assessment, Google receives information about your browser and device, including IP address, and about how the site is used. We only get a score back, and we do not store it. The script is only loaded when you start filling out the form, and Google then sets the _GRECAPTCHA cookie (see table below). Google's privacy policy and terms apply.

Why we process the information

  • To fulfill your purchase (agreement): deliver licenses and books, send order confirmation and invoice, and give you access to your account.
  • Because the law requires it (legal obligation): orders and invoices are accounting records that we must keep according to the Accounting Act.
  • Because you have consented : newsletters and saving preferences in the browser.
  • Legitimate interest : security, prevention of abuse and response to inquiries you send us.

Who we share information with

We only share information with suppliers who help us deliver the service, and only what they need:

  • Nets (Nexi) processes card payments.
  • Campaign Monitor sends the newsletter and maintains the list of those who have signed up. They may process the information outside the EEA.
  • The mCourser licensing platform , where the learning materials are located, receives the name and email address of the person who will use the license.
  • Hosting and email providers store data and send emails for us.
  • Google provides reCAPTCHA spam protection on registration and forms, and in cases of increased risk elsewhere (see "Spam protection" above). Google may process the information outside the EEA. It is then covered by the EU framework for data transfers to the USA (EU–US Data Privacy Framework).

CyberBook AS always decides how the information will be processed. We do not otherwise share information with others, unless required to do so by law.

How long we store the information

  • Your account will be stored until you ask us to delete it.
  • Orders and invoices are stored at least as long as the Accounting Act requires, which is five years after the end of the financial year.
  • Form responses are stored as long as we need them to follow up on the inquiry.
  • Newsletter : your email address will be deleted from the list when you unsubscribe.
  • Login : you stay logged in for up to 30 days, or until you log out.
