NorskPluss Barn gives newly arrived primary school students a quick introduction to the Norwegian language, regardless of whether they can read or not.

Fun cartoon characters – children, adults and imaginative creatures – stimulate language production. Students encounter them in everything from karaoke and film clips, to fairy tales and games.

This version is adapted for Ukrainian and Russian.

About this resource

Learn Norwegian by watching, listening and reading

NorskPluss Barn - Norwegian, Ukrainian and Russian is a separate version of NorskPluss Barn that is adapted for Ukrainian and Russian.

The subject texts are translated into Ukrainian and Russian. Students can listen to the Norwegian subject text and at the same time see and read the text in Ukrainian or Russian. After each subject text there are interactive and self-correcting exercises in Norwegian.

NorskPluss Children - Norwegian, Ukrainian and Russian is suitable for students in grades 1-7. For students in grades 5 and up, you can also use NorskPluss Youth - Norwegian, Ukrainian and Russian.

NorskPluss Children in education

NorskPluss Barn consists of short chapters built around an animated film that shows different events and communication situations at school and during free time.

The animation is followed by interactive tasks that appeal to multiple senses and skills.

The chapters are normally reviewed together first.

The class then orally practices sentence structures, language functions, and situations, both collectively, in pairs, and on their own.
