Free trial with students

Through exploration and use of dynamic tasks where parameters can be changed to illustrate and interpret relationships, students are given the opportunity to use different learning strategies. Mathematics 8-10 emphasizes understanding of mathematical language through many tasks where algebra must be applied in various subjects. Students must explore, reason and argue for their own solutions, in this way developing the students' mathematical understanding. At the same time, students practice their basic competence with the help of tasks with good progression so that they can practice their arithmetic skills.

Structured according to the subject renewal

Exploratory:
Geogebra is integrated into the learning tool. This means, among other things, that there are many exploratory activities where students discover mathematical relationships and gain a deeper understanding of the subject they are working on.

Practical:
The learning material closely connects subject matter to the students' everyday lives and experiences. Through animations and videos, you get tips for outdoor tasks that are solved digitally. These are tasks where students have to get out of their chairs and into the local environment to collect data and make calculations. All answers are automatically corrected in our learning material. Such a task could, for example, be: "Calculate the diagonal of the football field using the Pythagorean theorem" or "Calculate the speed of the cars driving past the school".

Module-based:
With Mathematics 8-10, teachers can select modules and put them together as they wish. This is very useful when the class is working on a topic that requires a lot of prior knowledge. Students who are struggling with mathematics can then access the modules they need to master the topic the class is working on.

Diagnostic tasks:
Within the subjects of functions, algebra, volume, area, fractions and decimals, there are separate task modules that are designed to help teachers check students' understanding. These tasks can help teachers uncover misconceptions. If students have many misconceptions in mathematics, it will be almost impossible to make significant academic progress. Teachers get full insight into the students' answers and also have access to a tutor on how to work to remove such misconceptions.

CAS practice problems:
In mathematics 8, 9 and 10 you will now find separate modules with CAS problems. With CAS you can, among other things, simplify algebraic expressions, rearrange formulas, solve equations and sets of equations, derive expressions and find integrals. Students who master this tool can, among other things, solve equations and expressions with several variables in a completely new way.

Methodical training on text problems:
In order for students to be able to create meaning in a mathematical text, they must have competence in reading complex texts (Fredheim, Utdanningsforskning.no, 2014). In the new mathematics teaching materials 8, 9 and 10 you will find a separate module with problems where students can practice solving text problems based on Fredheim's method.

Learning analysis:
Through the learning tool, students and teachers have access to a comprehensive learning analysis that helps teachers with ongoing assessment. Films of practical activities for the subjects inspire teachers to varied teaching.

Subject renewal requirements for ongoing assessment become easy with learning analysis using digital teaching aids in mathematics

Differentiation: Through our portal min. Kunnskap.no , teachers can easily create customized programs for students in the class. Students get access to learning material they have the opportunity to master, while students who want more demanding tasks can get it, without it requiring a lot of work for the teacher.

Practical activities: In Mathematics 8-10, you as a teacher have access to films with activity suggestions that make teaching varied and practical. The activities are easy to carry out and do not require much equipment.

The mLibro app allows students to work offline on mobile, tablet and PC.

Mathematics 8, 9 and 10 have performance reports that give teachers a good starting point for ongoing assessment. The reports are now linked to a new powerful tool for learning analysis .
